At a celebration for his Grammy win, rock star Phoenix Walker is confronted by Lennon Michael, the ex who still resents him. Their hostile encounter opens a window onto high school, when Lennon was a bullied student and Sabrina interrupted Phoenix during a music practice. What began amid music, hurt and unresolved feelings has followed them into adulthood. Four years on, Phoenix is famous but struggling with drugs and alcohol, while Lennon is brought onto his tour with one demanding responsibility: helping him remain sober for eight weeks. Forced into close proximity, the former campus sweethearts must face the breakup and the wounds separating them. As Lennon guards her independence and Phoenix tries to hold himself together, their old attraction makes working together far more complicated than either expects.
