The Outcast and Her Beasts

At an academy where unwanted familiars are left to the students others reject, Faye is paired with a bear unable to perform even a simple spell. When a noble girl takes the creature from her, Faye uncovers a disturbing connection: both girls carry memories of a previous life linked to an unending winter curse. Ridiculed for her bloodline and pushed to the margins, Faye must navigate hostility while relying on an abandoned fox branded defective. The academy’s rivalries turn every choice into a contest for survival, but her deepest questions are personal. Why has her former companion returned, and what lies behind the supposedly worthless beasts? As Faye searches for answers, she faces enemies and the risk that the curse has not finished with her.
